Haryana Records Highest SGST Growth Among States in 2026-27
Haryana collected more state tax money this year than it did last year.
In the first five months of the 2026-27 financial year, it collected Rs 24,662 crore through SGST.
That was 29% more than during the same period last year.
The increase was almost twice the average increase across India.
In August 2026, Haryana collected Rs 4,982 crore in SGST.
This was 21% higher than in August of the previous year.
Haryana has 6.63 lakh GST taxpayers, which is less than 4% of the country’s total.
Even so, it contributes about 7.7% of the country’s combined GST collections.
Its VAT/CST collections also grew during the period.
Haryana collected Rs 24,662 crore in SGST during the first five months of 2026-27.
The collection rose 29% from Rs 19,174 crore during the same period last year.
Haryana’s growth was nearly double the national SGST growth rate of 16%.
August 2026 SGST revenue reached Rs 4,982 crore, up 21% year-on-year.
VAT/CST collections increased 13.8% to Rs 5,768 crore during the first five months.
