Four proposed Namo Bharat routes may sharply cut travel time
India is building super-fast trains called Namo Bharat.
One route between Delhi and Meerut is already finished.
It takes people between the two cities in about 50 to 55 minutes.
This route is the first of its kind in India.
Now four more routes are being planned starting near Ghaziabad.
One route would go to Jewar Airport.
Another would go toward Shamli and Baraut.
The third would go to Bulandshahr and Khurja, and the fourth to Hapur.
The new trains would help people travel faster and avoid crowded highways.
Ghaziabad station would become a big hub where passengers switch between routes.
Four new Namo Bharat corridors are proposed from Ghaziabad to Jewar Airport, Shamli-Baraut, Bulandshahr-Khurja and Hapur.
The completed Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, India's first Regional Rapid Transit System project, cuts Delhi-Meerut travel to 50-55 minutes.
NCRTC has submitted a detailed project report for the 72-km Ghaziabad-Jewar Airport corridor via Pari Chowk in Greater Noida.
The Delhi-Shahdara-Shamli-Baraut route is expected to cut travel on the congested Delhi-Saharanpur Highway from about two hours to 30-40 minutes.
Ghaziabad RRTS station is set to become an interchange hub linking routes to Meerut, Delhi, Jewar Airport, Hapur, Khurja and Baraut.
