Central Railway Announces 15-Night Titwala Platform Extension Block
Central Railway needs to make Titwala station platforms longer.
The longer platforms will allow the station to handle 15-car local trains.
To do this work, trains will be affected for 15 nights.
The work begins during the night of August 28/29 and continues through September 11/12.
During the first phase, railway workers will stop or limit train movement between Kalyan and Vasind overnight.
Some local trains will be cancelled or end before their usual destination.
Other trains will begin or end at stations such as Thane, Kalyan or Asangaon.
Passengers should check their train plans because some longer-distance trains may also be delayed.
Central Railway will conduct 15 consecutive nights of traffic and power blocks near Titwala from August 28/29 through September 11/12.
The first phase, running August 28/29 to September 1/2, will involve nightly blocks from 11:30 p.m. to 5:10 a.m. between Kalyan and Vasind.
Several suburban trains between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Titwala and Kasara will be cancelled, short-terminated or shifted to other stations.
Some Titwala-bound services will run to Asangaon, while certain daytime AC locals will operate only as far as Thane.
Mail and Express trains may be regulated or arrive in Mumbai 10 to 20 minutes late; details of later blocks will be announced separately.
