Mumbai Mega Block On August 16 Disrupts Local Train Services
Mumbai's local trains will have a special maintenance day on Sunday, August 16.
Some tracks need to be checked and fixed to keep the trains safe.
Because of this, parts of the tracks will be closed for a few hours, which is called a 'mega block.'
On the Central Line, fast trains will move onto slower tracks between Thane and Kalyan.
These trains will stop at more stations and arrive about 10 minutes late.
On the Harbour Line, many trains between Vashi and Panvel will be cancelled.
Special trains will still run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Vashi for commuters.
On the Trans-Harbour Line, trains will run only between Thane and Vashi.
The Western Line and the Uran Line will work normally.
A mega block on Sunday, August 16 will cause diversions, cancellations and delays on Mumbai's Central, Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines.
On the Central Line, the Up and Down fast lines between Thane and Kalyan will be blocked from 10:40 am to 3:10 pm.
Fast and semi-fast Central Line services will be diverted onto slow lines with extra halts, reaching destinations about 10 minutes late.
On the Harbour Line, Up and Down services between Vashi and Panvel will be blocked from 11:05 am to 4:05 pm, with many trains cancelled and special trains running between CSMT and Vashi.
Trans-Harbour services will run only between Thane and Vashi during the block, while the Western Line and Uran Line will have no block.
