Heavy Rain Batters Shimla: Landslides, Road Damage Prompt Urgent Repairs

It rained very heavily in a city called Shimla in India.

One road near a cemetery got blocked by a landslide.

In another area called Vikas Nagar, part of the road broke, and a house nearby became unsafe.

A man named Prem Sagar said his family had to leave their home because it was dangerous.

Some people said they had told city workers about the problems earlier, but nobody fixed them in time.

Families said water leaked into their homes and they were scared and could not sleep.

The leader of the city, Mayor Surinder Chauhan, visited the area and started repair work right away.

He said the repairs should be finished within one to two weeks so people can be safe again.
