HP Assembly MLA Sharma Seeks BPL Selection Criteria Details

An MLA in Himachal Pradesh asked the government to explain how families are chosen for BPL benefits.

He especially wanted to know what “landless” means and whether people from outside the area are included.

The Assembly Speaker said the government would examine the question and provide an answer.

Other MLAs raised local problems during the same discussion.

These included power cuts, low voltage, tree-felling rules and caste certificates.

Some members also asked for closed police stations and suspended bus routes to be restored.

The government said 300 new buses had been added to the fleet.

The Chief Minister also said an e-bus service would soon begin in Bhoranj.
