ITBP Team Begins Expedition to Scale Mount Reo Purgyil
A team of 12 Indo-Tibetan Border Police mountaineers has started climbing Mount Reo Purgyil.
The mountain is in Himachal Pradesh and is about 22,175 feet tall.
Deputy Commandant Vinod Kumar is leading the team.
The expedition is part of a program called Parvat Sankalp-2026.
Inspector General Manu Maharaj officially sent the team off in Shimla.
He said climbing helps ITBP personnel become stronger and better at working together.
It also gives them practice in snow, glaciers, rocks and places with little oxygen.
These skills are useful for personnel working in very high Himalayan areas.
The team was wished success in its difficult climb.

Officials said the expedition will strengthen high-altitude skills, endurance, teamwork and operational readiness.
