Tamil Nadu Plans 5,400 Special Buses For Festival Rush
Tamil Nadu is adding many buses for a busy holiday period.
In total, 5,400 special buses will operate over five days.
The services will run from Thursday through Monday.
More people are expected to travel because of Vinayaka Chaturthi, wedding dates and a long weekend.
Kilambakkam will handle most of the south-bound buses.
These buses will go to many towns and cities in Tamil Nadu.
Koyambedu will also operate extra buses.
Some services will travel to places such as Hosur and Bengaluru.
Tamil Nadu will operate 5,400 special buses over five days from Thursday to Monday.
The services aim to manage increased travel linked to Vinayaka Chaturthi, wedding dates and an extended weekend.
Kilambakkam will run 585 buses Thursday, 1,255 Friday, 1,030 Saturday and 650 Sunday.
The buses will connect Chennai with cities including Madurai, Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Salem and Tirupur.
Koyambedu will provide additional services to destinations including Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Hosur and Bengaluru.
