India has a special holiday called Independence Day on August 15.

This year it falls on a Saturday, so many people get a long weekend and want to visit their families in their hometowns.

That means buses will be very crowded.

To help, the transport companies in Tamil Nadu, called TNSTC, are adding about 1,900 extra buses.

These special buses will run from August 14 to 16.

Many of them will leave from bus stations in Chennai, like Kilambakkam, Koyambedu and Madhavaram.

They will take people to cities like Madurai, Coimbatore, Salem and many other places.

Extra buses will also bring people back to Chennai on Sunday.

This way, more passengers can reach their families and enjoy the holiday.
