Udupi Congress Leader David D'Souza Murder: Three Arrested, One Shot
Three arrested after Cong leader David D’Souza shot dead in Udupi · thehansindia.com

On August 7, a man named David D'Souza, who was the head of his village council, a Congress party leader, and a contractor, was shot while walking to his car after visiting his office in Mudrangadi.

Two people on a motorcycle shot him in the head with a gun, and he sadly died.

He was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police started looking for the people who did it and learned that three suspects were on a bus travelling to Bhatkal.

Police stopped the bus near Byndoor and chased the men when they tried to run away.

One suspect, Raju, pushed a police officer and fired a gun at him, so police shot Raju in the leg to protect themselves.

Raju is now in the hospital, and police caught the other two suspects in other towns with the help of local police.

Police also found the motorcycle used in the attack and the gun.

They believe the killing was connected to a money dispute over construction work with a company from another state and that someone may have been hired to do it.

Police are still investigating who planned and paid for the attack.
