Ex-Panchayat Chief Shot Dead at Point-Blank Range in Karnataka
A man who used to be the leader of a village council was shot near a church in Karnataka.
The shooting happened in front of St. Francis Xavier Church in Pilar village, in Udupi district.
Two men came on a motorcycle, and one of them walked up behind the man.
The man was opening the door of his car when the attacker pointed a gun at his head and shot him.
A security camera caught the whole attack on video.
People nearby rushed the man to a hospital quickly.
Sadly, he died from his injuries on the way.
Police do not yet know why the man was attacked.
Crime scene experts and a dog squad are helping police look for clues.
The attackers ran away, and police are trying to find them.
A former Gram Panchayat president and contractor, D'Souza, was shot dead at point-blank range in Udupi district, Karnataka, on Friday.
