Vi and ACES India have signed a 25-year agreement.

They will help provide 4G and 5G mobile service on Mumbai Metro Aqua Line-3.

This means passengers can use calls, messages and internet services underground.

The coverage will include stations, platforms, concourses and tunnels.

Aqua Line-3 is about 33.5 kilometres long and has 27 stations.

It runs from Aarey JVLR to Cuffe Parade.

The metro line is built to eventually handle more than 625 million passengers each year.

The agreement is part of a shared system that lets several telecom companies provide service in the metro.
