Indore Metro Expands 11 Kilometres, Reaching 16 Operational Stations
Indore has opened a longer Metro train network for passengers.
The network now covers about 17 kilometres and has 16 working stations.
The newest part adds 11 kilometres and 11 stations.
It runs from Super Corridor-3 to Malviya Nagar Chauraha.
Manohar Lal and Mohan Yadav launched this section on September 5.
The government says the Metro can make travel faster, safer and more comfortable.
It may also reduce traffic and help people reach homes, workplaces and businesses more easily.
In the future, the Metro is planned to connect with the railway station, airport and old markets.
These future connections are not operating yet.
Indore Metro now operates across approximately 17 kilometres and 16 stations.
Priority Corridor-2 added an 11-kilometre stretch with 11 stations from Super Corridor-3 to Malviya Nagar Chauraha.
Union Minister Manohar Lal launched Phase-1 Reach-II with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on September 5.
Reach-II cost an estimated Rs 2,850 crore, while the cumulative project cost is about Rs 4,370 crore.
Future phases are expected to connect the Metro with Indore’s railway station, airport, old markets and other major locations.
