Book Explores Civilisational Forces Behind Bharat’s Economic Rise

Dr Monica B Sood has written a book about why India’s economy keeps recovering and changing.

She says GDP and other numbers show how fast the economy grows, but not the whole reason behind that growth.

The book looks at values and habits that have existed in India for a long time.

These include learning, trading, helping communities, inventing and staying strong during difficult periods.

Sood connects these older ideas to modern examples such as start-ups, digital infrastructure and indigenous manufacturing.

She also says that people’s ideas about prosperity affect how an economy works.

The book brings economics together with history, psychology, public policy and civilisation.

Its larger goal is to help explain India’s path toward Viksit Bharat 2047.
