Sitharaman Urges Centre, States Partnership to Build Viksit Bharat

The finance minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman, gave a big speech to people who study and advise on India's economy.

She said that long ago, at the beginning of the Common Era, India made nearly one-third of all the money in the whole world.

She said the Indian people were not always poor.

She believes poverty was made by hundreds of years of invasions and by being ruled by other countries.

She also talked about a big dream called Viksit Bharat, which means a developed India by the year 2047.

In this dream, nobody would be poor, everyone would get a good education and good healthcare, and everyone would have a good job.

She said both the central government and every state government must work together to make this happen.

She especially wants young people to help build this future.

She said India wants to be rich and successful without forgetting its culture and values.

She ended by saying the future must be built with the wisdom of older people and the energy of young people.
