The Delhi government buys things it needs using a special website called GeM, which works like a big online marketplace.

Small businesses can sell their products and services to the government through this website.

In the first four months of this year, the government spent Rs 1,595 crore through GeM.

That is 156% more money than it spent during the same months last year.

The government says this helps small businesses grow and create jobs.

Buying through GeM is digital, simple and more transparent.

Last year, micro and small businesses received around Rs 2,177 crore worth of orders.

Women entrepreneurs, SC/ST entrepreneurs and startups are also getting more orders than before.

Delhi has been specially recognised for buying services through GeM.

This also helps Delhi's small businesses sell their products to customers across the whole country.
