NESt Fest to spotlight Northeast culture and youth talent
NESt Fest is a two-day festival about the culture of Northeast India.
It will happen in New Delhi on September 4 and 5.
Students and artists will show music, dance, clothing, crafts and food from the region.
The festival will begin with a parade and an opening ceremony.
Several government leaders are expected to attend.
Students will also compete in cultural performances on the second day.
A fashion show and a youth pledge ceremony are also planned.
The festival will include a help desk for people affected by floods in Assam.
The ninth North East Students’ Festival will be held in New Delhi on September 4 and 5.
The free festival at Talkatora Indoor Stadium will feature cultural performances, student talent, handicrafts and regional cuisine.
The opening day includes a cultural parade, government pavilion, folk performances and a Janajatiya handicrafts and cuisine exhibition.
The second day will include a “Vande Mataram”-themed inter-college competition, fashion show, youth pledge and closing session.
An Assam flood relief help desk will coordinate assistance for people affected by recent floods.
