Uttarakhand CM Approves ₹676 Crore for Infrastructure Projects
The Uttarakhand state government, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has given a big money boost of ₹676 crore to build and improve roads, lights, water, and schools.
They plan to put solar lights in Almora, upgrade street lights in Dehradun and Pithoragarh, and fix water in Nainital.
They also want to build new power lines for the holy Kedarnath area and a new science building at a college.
The money will help local governments run better and make life easier for people in cities and villages.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami approved ₹676 crore for state infrastructure, utilities, and local body projects.
Funds cover solar lighting, LED street lighting, water supply, electricity distribution, education, and fiscal support for district and urban local bodies.
Major allocations include ₹35 lakh for 200 solar lights in Almora, ₹3.07 crore for a Central Control Monitoring System in Chamiyala, and ₹212.10 crore for Kedarnath Dham power infrastructure.
The package also includes ₹82.21 crore for district panchayats and ₹325.03 crore for urban local bodies as second quarterly instalments under the Fifth State Finance Commission.
The approvals aim to speed up project implementation, improve civic services, and strengthen local institutional capacity.
