Andhra Pradesh Advances ₹4,200 Crore Drainage, ₹10,200 Crore Pipeline Projects
Andhra Pradesh is building new systems to help towns get cleaner water and better drainage.
The state is spending ₹4,200 crore on underground drainage projects.
It is also spending ₹10,200 crore on pipelines to provide safe drinking water to homes.
Another ₹5,500 crore has been approved for repairing and building roads.
Officials want the main infrastructure work finished within one year.
The projects cover roads, canals, street lights, water supplies and drainage in 123 municipalities.
Four municipalities under the VMRDA will receive ₹269 crore for drainage and underground sewer work.
Officials also discussed garbage collection and the need to improve a waste-to-electricity plant in Visakhapatnam.
