Delhi food safety officials found about 508 kilograms of paneer they described as spurious or adulterated.

They destroyed it so it could not be sold to people.

The paneer was found at Okhla Vegetable Market.

Officials increased inspections because festivals can lead to higher demand for paneer, milk products and sweets.

They also collected 22 samples from different parts of Delhi.

These samples will be tested in laboratories.

The government says it will take action against businesses that sell unsafe food.

More inspections are planned during the festive season.
