Ahmedabad Withholds 406 Kg Paneer, Seals Three Food Establishments
Food inspectors in Ahmedabad found large amounts of paneer being brought from Rajasthan for sale.
They stopped 406 kilograms of it from being sold.
The paneer samples were sent to a laboratory to check whether they meet safety standards.
The stock will remain withheld until the test results are available.
Inspectors also found 3,000 kilograms of expired food at one business.
That business was sealed because it also had poor hygiene.
Two other food establishments were sealed after earlier samples were found to be below the required standard.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation said it will continue checking food businesses.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation withheld 406 kg of paneer worth Rs 1,61,910 after finding it transported from Rajasthan for sale in Ahmedabad.
Officials collected samples from two paneer consignments and sent them for laboratory testing; the remaining stock was withheld pending results.
Shri Krishna Sales Corporation was sealed after inspectors found 3,000 kg of expired food products and poor hygienic conditions.
Harihar Kathiyawadi and J.B. Dairy and Parlour were sealed after earlier paneer and ghee samples, respectively, were declared non-standard.
