N Chandrasekaran Steps Down As Tata Sons Chairman, Record Payout
Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran announces exit: Know his net worth and salary · wionews.com

N Chandrasekaran was the boss of a very big group of companies in India, called the Tata Group.

This week, he told the board that he was stepping down as the Executive Chairman of Tata Sons, the group's main company.

His current job ends in February 2027, and he has decided not to ask for the job again after that.

He said one member of the company's board did not agree to give him another five years, so he chose to step aside.

In his last year, he was paid 158.6 crore rupees, the most he had ever earned in one year.

Most of that money came from commissions tied to company profits, not his regular salary.

Over the last five years, he has earned about 685 crore rupees in total.

During his time as chairman, the group bought Air India and moved into new areas like computer chips, electric cars, and batteries.

His salary made up almost 80 per cent of all the money paid to Tata Sons directors that year.
