MSRTC Fills 5,184 Konkan Buses After Surcharge Withdrawal
Many people travel from Mumbai and nearby areas to Konkan for Ganeshotsav.
MSRTC is adding thousands of buses to help them reach their villages.
The corporation removed a 30% extra charge on group bookings.
This helped passengers book 5,184 buses together.
Another 557 buses were booked by individual passengers.
Services will run from September 10 to 13.
Buses will leave from stations in Mumbai, Thane and Palghar.
Staff, repair teams and temporary toilets will be arranged to help keep the journey safe and comfortable.
MSRTC filled 5,184 of 5,741 additional buses booked for Ganeshotsav travel to Konkan.
The bookings represent nearly 90% of the additional buses planned for the festival.
The corporation withdrew a 30% surcharge on group bookings, making group travel more affordable.

MSRTC plans around 600 Mumbai buses, more than 4,000 buses from other divisions, repair teams and temporary toilets along the routes.
