MG Cyberster and M9 Launch Battery Rental Ownership Scheme
MG has created a new way for people to buy two expensive electric cars.
Buyers pay less money at the beginning for the car itself.
They then pay ₹8 for every kilometre they drive as a battery rental fee.
The Cyberster is a fast, two-seat electric sports car.
The M9 is a larger luxury electric vehicle with special passenger seats.
The battery rental plan does not change the cars’ features or performance.
It may make the first payment smaller, but the total cost also depends on how far the car is driven.
The two vehicles are sold through MG Select luxury outlets in India.
JSW MG Motor India introduced Battery-as-a-Service for the Cyberster and M9 electric vehicles in India.
The Cyberster costs ₹72.49 lakh upfront, while the M9 costs ₹69.99 lakh under the scheme.
Customers pay an additional battery rental fee of ₹8 per kilometre for either vehicle.
The BaaS option lowers the initial price by about ₹10 lakh without changing either vehicle’s features or mechanical specifications.
Both models are sold through MG Select, which operates 15 Experience Centres across 14 cities.
