Mumbai Coastal Road North Link Targets December 2028 Completion
Mumbai is building a new coastal road connection between Versova and Bhayandar.
The final section is called the Dahisar-Bhayandar Link Road.
Workers have started building the foundations for its bridges.
A special construction yard in Bhayandar is making large concrete parts.
Officials say 60 piles, five pile caps, four piers, pier caps and nine bridge segments are complete.
More bridge-building equipment is expected to start work in October.
The civic body wants the link finished by December 2028.
The whole project could reduce the journey from 90–120 minutes to about 15–20 minutes.
Piling and pile-cap work has begun for the Dahisar-Bhayandar Link Road bridge foundations.
Launching-girder work is scheduled to begin in the second week of October.
A Bhayandar casting yard is producing precast components for the project.
The 5.135-kilometre link includes elevated roads, creek structures, interchanges and flyovers.
The wider project is expected to cut Versova-Bhayandar travel time to 15–20 minutes.
