Three people died and one person was critically injured.

Reports say the car was travelling from Marine Drive toward Haji Ali.

The driver allegedly lost control, hit a barrier and fell into an area below the road.

The Coastal Road was built to help people travel across Mumbai more quickly.

Cars can travel up to 80 kmph on its main section.

Lower speed limits apply in tunnels, on ramps and around curves.

Only certain vehicles may use the road, and drivers cannot stop, reverse or make U-turns there.

Cameras monitor the road for speeding and other violations.
