Mumbai’s Vidyavihar Connector Set To Open After Eight-Year Delay
Mumbai is building a flyover called the Vidyavihar Connector.
It will connect roads on the east and west sides of Vidyavihar.
The bridge is being built over railway tracks.
Construction has taken nearly eight years and has faced several delays.
Workers are now completing stairs, footpaths, painting and road surfaces.
The flyover is expected to open to cars and other vehicles by the end of the month.
It should make a trip between Vidyavihar East and West much shorter.

The 612-metre, four-lane Vidyavihar Connector is nearing completion after nearly eight years of delays.
Staircase, footpath, painting, pavement and other finishing works are underway.
The flyover is expected to open to vehicular traffic by the end of the month.
Approach roads are being widened to prevent congestion after the connector opens.
The project cost has risen to Rs. 178.93 crore after repeated deadline extensions.
