Modi's agriculture, millet, AI push opens global opportunities: Expert
After the Prime Minister of India gave a big speech for Independence Day, an expert named Aditya Sesh talked about it.
He said the Prime Minister wants farmers and farming to grow stronger.
He talked about millets, which are healthy grains grown in India for a long time.
Millets use less water, are healthy, and can be sold to other countries.
The prices of millets have already gone up a little this year.
The government also signed 35 deals with other countries that can help Indian farmers sell their food abroad.
Mr. Sesh said India should make its own protein foods from millets instead of buying them from other places.
He also said India should use many kinds of energy, like solar, wind, and fuel made from plants.
This way, if something goes wrong in one part of the world, India will still be safe.
He believes farming plus new technology can help India grow a lot in the future.
CA Aditya Sesh, a member of the expert committee at the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, said PM Modi's Independence Day focus on agriculture, millets, AI and the blue economy can open new economic avenues for India.
Sesh called the government's signing of 35 Free Trade Agreements a significant achievement that could give Indian agricultural products greater access to international markets.
Millet market prices have risen by around 15 to 25 per cent this year, reflecting rising acceptance of the grain, he said.
Sesh endorsed E20 ethanol-blended fuel and called for diversifying India's energy portfolio with hydrogen, solar, wind and nuclear energy to withstand global shocks.
He said Maharashtra, with diverse ecosystems including the high-rainfall Konkan region, has a big role in national agricultural progress, aided by GI recognition and the One District One Product initiative.
