Former UP cop, 85, wins 25-year fight for inspector promotion

An 85-year-old man named Ram Autar Singh Yadav used to be a police officer in Uttar Pradesh.

Many years ago, he was told he could not get a higher job, even though his coworkers did.

He thought that was not fair, so he kept asking the courts to help him for 25 years.

He traveled more than 450 kilometers from his hometown to go to court.

Finally, a big court called the Allahabad High Court said he was treated unfairly.

The court told the government to give him the higher job benefits from 1980.

That means he will get money for the salary he should have earned.

The court also said he should get his retirement benefits within four weeks.

He is happy because he never gave up, and now he finally got his due.
