Odisha CM Pushes Anti-Corruption and Job Creation
The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, has asked the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) to add 151 more jobs to the Odisha Civil Services Examination 2025.
This is because many people were upset that the initial job list didn't include important jobs like OAS, OFS, and ORS.
The initial list had 314 jobs, but the Chief Minister wants to add more to help young people who want these jobs.
The government has been filling a lot of jobs recently, and the Chief Minister wants to make sure all empty jobs are filled soon.
Additionally, the Chief Minister advised the Vigilance department to continue its fight against corruption.
The government has been investigating a lot of corruption cases and has seized many assets from corrupt officials.
The Vigilance department has also been awarded a special certification for its good work.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi recommended 151 additional posts for the Odisha Civil Services Examination 2025.
The initial notification by OPSC had 314 vacancies, excluding OAS, OFS, and ORS posts, causing resentment among job aspirants.
The recommended posts include 14 for OAS, 113 for ORS, 16 for OTS, and 8 for OWS.
The initial vacancies included 104 posts reserved for women and 12 vacancies in the Odisha Police Service (OPS).
The Chief Minister emphasized the government's priority on employment, with about 40,000 government posts filled in the last 18 months.
The Chief Minister advised the Vigilance department to continue its anti-corruption drive, aiming to make Odisha corruption-free.
The State government forwarded a record 125 corruption cases to the Vigilance department for investigation between April and December 2025.
A total of 488 corruption cases were disposed of in 2025, with 173 cases related to the acquisition of disproportionate assets (DA).
Vigilance teams conducted raids at 487 locations across the State and seized significant assets, including 153 buildings, 417 plots of land, 12 farmhouses, and 18.3 kilograms of gold.
The State Vigilance Academy was awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification for a period of three years.
