Naidu Launches ₹11,359-Crore Urban Projects, Promotes Weekend Economy
Andhra Pradesh has started many new projects to improve its cities.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched projects worth ₹11,359 crore.
They will cover 123 towns and cities.
He said people spend a lot of money during weekends, so cities should support more weekend activities.
He also wants cities to be comfortable, clean, and environmentally friendly.
Unfinished TIDCO homes are supposed to be completed by 2027.
Officials were told to work toward treated drinking water being available all day and night.
The state is also processing old waste and building more Waste-to-Energy plants.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually launched ₹11,359 crore in projects across 123 municipalities and municipal corporations.
The projects are part of a ₹50,000-crore urban modernisation blueprint, with ₹22,330 crore already underway.
Naidu urged officials to promote the “weekend economy” while balancing growth with urban liveability and sustainability.
He set a 2027 deadline for completing pending TIDCO housing and ordered faster implementation of 24x7 treated drinking-water supplies.
Officials reported processing 143 lakh tonnes of legacy waste, while four additional Waste-to-Energy plants are nearing completion.
