LPG, CNG, PNG Prices Today: Latest Rates in Major Cities
Fuel prices are like the weather — they can be different depending on which city you live in.
On August 10, India shared new prices for LPG, CNG, and PNG gas in many big cities.
LPG is the cooking gas that comes in heavy steel cylinders used at home.
CNG is a cleaner gas that powers many buses and cars, while PNG is gas that comes through pipes straight into kitchens.
Prices for the same cylinder are different in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and other cities.
Some countries are worried about a very important sea route called the Strait of Hormuz, where ships carry fuel.
Because of this, India is planning to buy more gas from the United States instead of the Middle East by 2027.
Many families in India are also switching from gas cylinders to piped gas at home.
That is one big reason why LPG sales have gone down recently.
On August 10, a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder costs between ₹939.50 in Noida and ₹994 in Hyderabad, with Delhi at ₹942.
Commercial 19 kg LPG cylinders range from ₹2,691.50 in Mumbai to ₹2,985 in Hyderabad.
CNG prices vary from ₹83.09 per kg in Delhi to ₹109 per kg in Hyderabad, while PNG ranges from ₹48.40 per SCM in Gurugram to ₹54.70 in Chandigarh.
India plans to source up to a quarter of its liquefied petroleum gas imports from the United States by 2027 to cut Middle East dependence and support a trade deal with Washington.
India's LPG sales fell 17.4% to 2.37 million tonnes, mainly due to a shift towards piped natural gas after the West Asia crisis.
