LPG, CNG, PNG prices today: Check latest rates across cities
Every day, India tells people how much gas for cooking and cars costs in different cities.
Gas called LPG comes in heavy metal cylinders, while CNG and PNG come through pipes.
The price is a little different in each city, from Delhi to Mumbai to Kolkata.
India buys a lot of its cooking gas from other countries.
Most of it comes from the Middle East.
Now, the United States wants to put big extra taxes on countries that buy oil and gas from Russia.
India might be affected by this.
That is why India plans to buy more gas from the United States by 2027.
Also, fewer people are buying LPG cylinders because more homes are switching to piped gas.
India published daily LPG, CNG and PNG rates on August 8, with a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder ranging from ₹939.50 in Noida to ₹994 in Hyderabad.
The US Senate passed the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act, allowing up to 100% tariffs on goods from top importers of Russian oil and gas, including India.
India plans to source up to a quarter of its LPG imports from the United States by 2027 to cut its dependence on the Middle East.
India sourced about 90% of its 21.85 million metric tonnes of LPG imports from the Middle East in 2025; imports cover around 66% of national LPG consumption.
LPG sales in India declined 17.4% to 2.37 million tonnes, largely attributed to a shift towards piped natural gas following the West Asia crisis.
