Rs 800 Crore Proposed for 2027 Godavari Pushkaram Preparations
Officials are getting ready for the 2027 Godavari Pushkarams.
They have suggested about 1,870 improvement projects costing around Rs 800 crore.
The government has already released Rs 250 crore for the first stage.
Many bathing ghats will be improved or newly built for pilgrims.
Roads around the district will also be repaired.
Officials want to stop sewage and other pollution from entering the Godavari River.
A special area at Munikoodali Ghat will be developed as a model Pushkar panchayat.
Police will use cameras, drones and artificial intelligence to watch crowds and control traffic.
District officials have proposed about 1,870 Pushkaram-related works costing approximately Rs 800 crore.
The government has released Rs 250 crore initially, including Rs 100 crore for Rajamahendravaram municipal works.
Authorities are preparing 77 bathing ghats across East Godavari, with 17 in Rajamahendravaram and 10 more proposed there.
Plans include improving 81 roads and spending Rs 70 crore to divert sewage from the Nalla Channel into treatment or alternative routes.
Police will use AI cameras, drones, CCTV monitoring and QR-based vehicle identification to manage crowds and traffic.
