India Examining Bangladesh's Extradition Request for Sheikh Hasina
A country called Bangladesh wants a woman named Sheikh Hasina to come back and face justice.
She used to be the leader of Bangladesh, but she left in 2024 when many people protested against her government.
Right now she is living in India, a neighboring country.
A court in Bangladesh said she was responsible for harsh actions against protesters and gave her a serious punishment.
Bangladesh has asked India to send her back.

Dhaka reiterated its extradition demand when Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi met Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Hasina, 78, has been living in India since fleeing Bangladesh after her government collapsed in August 2024 amid a massive anti-government agitation.
Hasina and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal were sentenced to death by the International Crimes Tribunal for crimes against humanity during the 2024 crackdown.
India invited PM Rahman for a bilateral visit and to the BRICS Summit outreach session in New Delhi on September 12-13.
