Indian Envoy Meets Bangladesh PM Amid Hasina Extradition Push
Tarique to envoy: Expedite process of Sheikh Hasina's extradition to Bangladesh - Telegraph India · telegraphindia.com

Bangladesh's leader, Mr. Tarique Rahman, met with India's special representative in Bangladesh, Mr. Dinesh Trivedi.

Mr. Trivedi is called a High Commissioner, which is a bit like an ambassador.

They met in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

The two leaders wanted to keep the friendship between India and Bangladesh strong.

Bangladesh asked India to send back its former leader, Sheikh Hasina, and also people accused of hurting a young leader named Osman Hadi.

A few days earlier, Sheikh Hasina spoke to the media from India, and that made Bangladesh upset.

India said it had no part in that speech.

Mr. Trivedi said the meeting was friendly and that talking can solve problems.

India has invited Bangladesh's leader to a big meeting of countries called the BRICS Summit.

Both countries hope their friendship stays strong.

“We are looking forward. Our invitation is there in place. We are positive that if the two leaders meet together, there will be discussion. There will be issues in democracies. It’s not democracy if there is no issue. But there is only one people’s issue, which is good relations. It’s a win‑win situation if there is a good relationship.”
