Nashik Collector Urges Voters to Submit SIR Forms Before Deadline
Voting lets citizens choose their leaders.
Before elections, the government makes sure everyone who wants to vote is on a special list called the electoral roll.
In the district of Nashik in India, officials are updating this list through a program called the Special Intensive Revision.
The program started on June 30 and will end on August 17.
A district officer named Ayush Prasad asked all voters to fill out and submit their registration forms quickly.
Voters can give their forms to workers called Booth Level Officers.
Some areas, like Niphad, Dindori, and Igatpuri, have already finished their work.
The Nashik West area, which has the most voters, is about 73 percent done.
After the forms are collected, the draft list will be published on August 24.
The final voter list will be ready on October 27, so everyone can be ready to vote.
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voter registration process in Nashik district runs from June 30 to August 17, with only three days remaining.
District Collector Ayush Prasad has appealed to voters to submit their forms through the respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
Progress across the district's 15 Assembly constituencies was reviewed at a meeting chaired by the District Collector.
Work is 100% complete in the Niphad, Dindori, and Igatpuri constituencies, while Nashik West - which has the highest number of voters - has reached 73% completion.
The draft electoral roll will be published on August 24, and the final electoral roll will be published on October 27.
