India Reports LPG, CNG, PNG Prices Amid Supply Measures

A regular 14.2-kg LPG cylinder cost between ₹939.50 and ₹994.

The government said oil companies were losing ₹188 on every LPG cylinder sold in August.

LPG use fell by more than 16% compared with the same period a year earlier.

India wants to buy more LPG from the United States through contracts for 2027.

It is also setting domestic production targets and encouraging more homes to use piped gas.

US LPG imports
The government directed the three oil companies to source at least 15% of India’s 2027 LPG imports through US term contracts, with the share potentially rising to 25%.
Domestic supply and deadlines
Maximum production levels for 21 refineries and upstream companies total 63,810 tonnes per day; LPG e-KYC is due August 23, and a city-gas incentive scheme begins September 1, 2026.
