Sheinbaum mocks opposition figures and criticizes former presidents

Sheinbaum made the comments during a news conference as Mexico looks ahead to the 2027 elections.

She joked that former presidents Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderón were being presented as young political figures.

She also accused past governments of limiting democracy, including by trying to keep Andrés Manuel López Obrador off the 2006 ballot and through election fraud.

Those claims are part of a political dispute over Mexico’s past and the opposition’s role today.
