Türkiye’s fresh vegetable export revenue rises 10% to $822.7 million
Türkiye earned $822.7 million from fresh vegetable exports between January and September, 10% more than in the same period last year.
It exported 651,087 tons of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini and other vegetables.
Tomatoes brought in the most revenue, at $304.16 million, followed by peppers at $275.48 million.
Together, those two vegetables made up about 70% of export revenue.
Romania was the biggest market, buying about $147 million worth of vegetables, followed by Germany and Russia.
The increase came despite changing conditions during the growing season.
An industry representative said nearby markets matter and that exporters need to meet European buyers’ preferences and deliver products on time.
The figures cover the first nine months of the year; no further steps were specified.
