Saturday driving limits apply to some cars in Mexico City and State of Mexico

Mexico’s Hoy No Circula program will restrict some vehicles on Saturday, Oct.

10, in Mexico City and parts of the State of Mexico.

Cars with hologram 1 and plates ending in an even number must stay off the road that day.

All cars with hologram 2 are also restricted, as are some vehicles without valid verification.

The restriction runs from 5 a.m.

to 10 p.m.

Cars with holograms 0 or 00 and vehicles with an Exempt certificate can drive under the usual rules.

The program is intended to reduce pollution from traffic in the Valley of Mexico and applies whether or not an environmental alert is in effect.

It covers all 16 boroughs of Mexico City and 18 nearby State of Mexico municipalities, while separate rules also apply in the Toluca Valley and Santiago Tianguistenco metropolitan areas.
