Istanbul Commodity Exchange members elect committee and council representatives

Istanbul Commodity Exchange members elect committee and council representatives

Members of the Istanbul Commodity Exchange held elections at its headquarters in Eminönü, Istanbul.

They chose members for 27 professional committees and the exchange’s council.

Those elected will serve for four years.

The vote was for committee and council roles, not directly for the exchange’s president.

President Ali Kopuz said representatives first need the trust of members in their sector and then, for the presidency, the trust of the council.

He said the new committees and council should represent members and work on issues affecting the food sector.

Kopuz said the exchange would continue work to meet members’ needs and support agriculture and food, which he described as important to the country’s future.
