Banxico board divided over whether to consider an interest rate cut
Two members of Mexico’s central bank board said a rate cut could be considered if inflation keeps falling and financial conditions stay orderly.
Two others argued for keeping rates high to guard against inflation risks, while one took a more neutral view.
The board still voted unanimously to keep the rate at 6.50%.
The minutes show there is debate about future policy, not a decision to cut rates.
