LIUC plans AI and international expansion in new strategy
LIUC, a university in Castellanza, Italy, is preparing a new strategic plan as it marks 35 years since its founding.
The university was established by business leaders from the Varese area and focuses on engineering and economics.
Its plans include using artificial intelligence in teaching and university operations, and expanding its international work, which already includes 152 partnerships.
LIUC also wants to stay closely connected to businesses and is considering collaborations that could extend its current teaching areas.
Enrolment is growing in both undergraduate and graduate programmes, but the university says it wants to protect the quality of its education rather than grow too quickly.
It says 93% of its economics graduates are employed one year after graduation, while the rate for engineering graduates reaches 100% after five years.
Work is also under way on the Mill campus project, which is set to include laboratories and spaces for new businesses, as well as a new base for local business group Confindustria Varese.

The small size is also a value, and allows us, for example, to change course quickly, with flexibility, taking into account changes in the labour market, demographics and technologies.
