Italy’s industrial production fell 1.3% in August
Italy’s industrial production fell 1.3% in August compared with July, according to Istat, the national statistics agency.
Compared with August a year earlier, output was unchanged.
Energy was the only major industrial group to grow from the previous month, rising 2.8%.
Production of capital goods, consumer goods and intermediate goods all fell.
Over June to August, industrial production was down 1.1% compared with the previous three months.
The figures point to weakness across much of industry, despite stronger energy production.
