Borsa Istanbul closes higher as global markets rise

Turkey’s main stock index ended the day higher.

Shares in banks and holding companies fell, but gains elsewhere lifted the index.

Global markets were also positive after US President Donald Trump said the United States would not attack Iran before the midterm elections.

That helped ease worries about energy supplies and pushed oil prices down.
