Russian and Pakistani ministers discuss law enforcement cooperation

Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev met Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi in Islamabad to discuss law enforcement cooperation.

The meeting followed Kolokoltsev’s arrival in Pakistan for official events and working meetings.

They discussed cybercrime, drug trafficking, terrorism and weapons smuggling, all of which can cross national borders.

Kolokoltsev said people in both countries are targeted by international scams, including phone fraud and phishing.

Russia offered to share its experience investigating IT crimes and said it could provide further training for Pakistani police if requested.

The ministers also discussed exchanging information through Interpol and strengthening cooperation on drug threats.

Both sides expressed interest in expanding their law enforcement dialogue, but no specific new agreement was announced.
