BJP Yuva Morcha leader condemns police action against Mangaluru students

BJP Yuva Morcha leader Shiva Ashtagi condemned alleged police force against protesting students in Mangaluru.

The students, led by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, were protesting semester exams scheduled during the Dasara vacation.

Ashtagi said the timing disregarded students’ religious sentiments, festival plans and academic interests.

He said the government should address students’ concerns through dialogue rather than suppress protests.

He also said police should treat women students with dignity and follow the law.

Ashtagi urged the government and universities to protect students’ educational rights, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds; no further action was specified.
