Three CJP representatives detained after AI 2428 landed in Delhi

Three representatives of the Cockroach Janta Party—Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka—were taken off Air India flight AI 2428 after it landed at Delhi airport on Saturday.

Delhi Police boarded the plane at a remote bay and asked the three to go with them.

Dipke said he had come to be arrested, but police told him this was not an arrest and asked him to cooperate.

Other passengers stayed seated for about 10 to 15 minutes while the three and the police left the aircraft.

Delhi airport normally assigns aircraft to parking bays, but government agencies can request a remote bay in special circumstances, including when an aircraft has received a bomb threat.

Escorting political or social activists off a plane this way is uncommon.

The account gives no further information about what happened to the three after they left the aircraft.
