Feijóo questions Sánchez over alleged pressure on judge investigating his brother

Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of Spain’s opposition People’s Party, spoke at a campaign event in Madrid ahead of the 29 November elections.

He asked Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez who in the Socialist Party allegedly ordered an effort to remove or intimidate Judge Beatriz Biedma.

Biedma investigated a case involving Sánchez’s brother, David, who was convicted by the Provincial Court of Badajoz.

Feijóo said Sánchez should answer the question, but the account does not establish that anyone gave such an order.

He also promised to strengthen Spain’s institutions and ensure that those in power follow the rules.

Feijóo presented his offer as a broader change in how the country is governed, not simply a change of government.

The election is the next major test of his campaign.
